Scott Tucker, CFP – President

Scott Tucker has been in the insurance business for over 20 years. He started his career with MetLife in 1988 and subsequently worked with them for 13 years. Scott managed the Del Mar, California office of MetLife before leaving to open his own agency. Scott has placed over $500 million of premium over his career and has worked on some of the largest deals in San Diego. He is a Certified Financial Planner and has earned a BBA in accounting and an MBA in Finance. In addition, he has held an NASD Principal’s license for more than a decade. Scott brings his experience in insurance and strong financial background to negotiate the best value for his clients.

Valerie Lubic, CHRA – Assistant Vice President

Valerie was born and raised in Fresno, California. She attended Fresno City College and moved to San Diego in 1990. Valerie started her career in the insurance industry approximately 15 years ago and brings with her a broad base of experience from both the Carrier and Broker arenas. Her extensive experience working on the Carrier side has enabled her to anticipate the needs of the client. She has been proactive and instrumental in streamlining client issues that have ultimately provided greater customer satisfaction. Valerie is committed to follow up and providing accurate information on a timely basis. Valerie’s attention to detail will be an absolute satisfier for any team with whom she interfaces. On a personal note, Valerie enjoys outdoor activities, physical fitness and spending time with her family.

Tammy Lafata, AAI,ARM,CRM,CIC- Account Executive

Tammy Lafata has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. In a thirst to increase her knowledge and to better serve clients, Tammy has taken several insurance industry specific courses that are the equivalent of a Masters degree in insurance and risk management. She currently holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance; Associate in Risk Management; Certified Insurance Consultant and Certified Risk Manager designations which enable her to ‘think outside of the insurance box’ when assisting companies with their exposures to loss.
Tammy has done several Risk Management audits for current and prospective clients. She loves to work with clients to ensure that they understand how their insurance programs work. As a past Account Executive at two of San Diego’s most respected mid-size brokerages, she brought in niche business that assisted those brokerages in retaining Appointments with some of their best carriers. Tammy’s high levels of dedication and experience have made her an asset to J.S. Tucker Insurance and her clients.

Jill Tucker, President/ Broker

Jill has been in the Insurance Business since 1981. She started her career in San Francisco at Corroon and Black, a large commercial insurance Brokerage Firm where she worked as an Account Manager on extremely large construction accounts until 1987. In 1987, Jill transferred to the San Diego branch office of Willis who had acquired Corroon and Black. Jill worked as a Senior VP and Producer until 1995 at which time she started her own Agency, TCT Insurance Services. Jill sold her agency to Willis in 2003 and elected to stay home to raise her two young boys. In 2010, she started J.S. Tucker Insurance Services with her husband Scott. As President and Director of the Property & Casualty department at J.S. Tucker Insurance Services, Jill uses her extremely strong insurance knowledge, negotiating skills and passion for servicing her clients to continue to grow the agency and strengthen client/carrier relationships.

Danila Martinez, Sr. Account Executive

Danila began her insurance career in 2003. She has experienced the wholesale, carrier, and retail side of insurance, and decided the retail side was where she belonged. She enjoys helping clients with their insurance needs and strives to provide superior customer service to all clients, large or small. Danila has a B.S. in Human Services, a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation, and a Master of Business Administration degree. During her free time, you can find her on the softball field or with her husband on the sidelines cheering on their son.

Linda Johnson, CFO/ Office Manager

Linda is a long time San Diego County resident. She completed her Accounting studies at National University and brings over 30 years of accounting experience and excellence to the business. Her many areas of expertise include insurance, as well as the retail, wholesale and manufacturing industries. In her spare time Linda enjoys gardening, taking care of her dogs and reading a good book.

Elaine Martinez, Account Manager

Elaine Martinez was born and raised in the Imperial Valley where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administration in 2013 and moved to San Diego in 2014. She joined the JS Tucker team in 2014 as an Assistant Account Manager and is now an Account Manager. Elaine was fairly new to the insurance industry and has quickly gained great knowledge with the expertise guidance of her supervisors. She is dedicated and driven to excel in the field. Her quick thinking, fast learning, and ability to retain information are key factors which have helped her quickly comprehend the insurance industry.

Ryan Moore, Client Advocate

Ryan was born and raised locally in Solana Beach, CA and attended Saddleback College and Fresno State University. In school, he attained his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Bachelors in Communication Studies while playing division 1 Football at Fresno State. Ryan started his career in Insurance 1 year ago and applies the leadership and communication techniques he acquired in college to the workplace. Ryan is committed to providing JS Tucker’s clients with top quality services and continues to strive for success in the industry.

Mason Tucker, Client Advocate

Mason Tucker is from Encinitas, California. He graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU) in 2016 with a degree in Financial accounting and stayed at TCU to achieve his Masters of Accounting Degree with a concentration in Assurance. Mason has been licensed in insurance since he was 18 and is currently completing his CPA certification. At JS Tucker, Mason works as a staff accountant and a client advocate.

Meghan comes to JS Tucker with over 10 years in the customer support and management field. Her career experience with financial and operations management provides her with a unique skillset to think outside of the box to tackle her customer’s needs. A strong beliver in excellence and execution, her goal is always to go the extra mile for her clients to get the job done.
